A free trading journal for thinkorswim traders

thinkorswim shows your trades but does not tell you which habits make or lose money. Export your Account Statement, drop it into OptiqJournal, and your executions become trades with full statistics.

How to get your thinkorswim trades in

  • In thinkorswim open Monitor, then Account Statement, and choose your dates
  • Use the menu to Export to File and save the CSV
  • In OptiqJournal open Import, leave the broker on auto-detect or pick thinkorswim (Schwab), and drop the file in

What gets read

The Account Trade History section is used, including stocks, options and futures executions with their times. The statement does not list commissions, so set your per-share and per-contract fees in Settings. Re-importing an overlapping date range skips executions that are already stored.

What you get after the import

  • Trades paired from your fills, with scale-ins, partial exits and shorts handled
  • A dashboard, calendar and equity curve
  • Setups, tags and mistakes ready to apply to each trade
  • A daily Coach review and plan for the next session

Frequently asked questions

Which time zone are thinkorswim times in?

The journal reads them as US Eastern by default. Change it in Settings if your platform uses another zone, so trades land on the right day.

Does it work with futures on thinkorswim?

Yes. Common futures use their contract multipliers when valuing P&L.
