A free trading journal for Fidelity accounts
Fidelity does not include a trading journal. OptiqJournal imports both the Active Trader Pro orders export and the Fidelity.com activity history, then turns them into trades, P&L and statistics.
Two files, two strengths
Use the Active Trader Pro file when you can. Do not import both for the same days, or the same trades are counted twice.
- Active Trader Pro Orders: has the exact time of each order, so entry-time charts are accurate. It has no commissions, so fees come from your Settings.
- Fidelity.com Activity and Orders History: includes the commissions and fees for each trade but only the date, so time-of-day statistics are not meaningful for it.
What gets read
Filled orders for stocks and options. Option symbols such as QQQ261104P688 are read as QQQ, 4 Nov 2026, 688 put. Cancelled and open orders are skipped. Option expirations and assignments in the history file are not paired, so those positions can show as open.

Frequently asked questions
Which Fidelity file should I use?
The Active Trader Pro Orders export when you can get it, because it has exact times. Use the Fidelity.com history for older periods or when you want the exact commissions.
Are commissions included?
In the Fidelity.com history file, yes. The Active Trader Pro file has none, so a per-contract fee from your Settings is applied.
