A day trading journal built around your habits
Day trading results come from habits: when you trade, how often, and what you do after a loss. OptiqJournal turns your broker file into the patterns that matter, then reviews each day against your own history and drafts a plan for the next one.
See when you win and lose
A weekday-by-entry-hour heatmap shows your average result for every slot, and a scatter plot shows each trade by time of day against its result. Many traders discover that one hour or one weekday explains most of their losses.
A daily review that compares you with yourself
The Coach tab checks a day against your own last 60 days using fixed rules, and shows its numbers so you can check them. It looks for:
- More trades than your usual day
- New trades within five minutes of a loss, a common sign of revenge trading
- Giving back half or more of the day's peak profit
- Losers held much longer than winners
- One oversized loss, or position size well above normal
- Three or more losses in a row
- Entry hours and setups that keep losing money
From review to plan
Each review ends with a short plan for the next trading day, such as a trade cap, a daily loss limit based on your typical losing day, or an hour to avoid. One click saves it to that day's pre-market plan in your Journal.
Setups day traders use, ready to tag
Opening range breakout high and low, ORB retest, gap and go, VWAP reclaim and rejection, 8 EMA and VWAP crossover, 8 and 21 EMA crossover, bull and bear flags, range fade and more. Tag a trade and the dashboard shows which setups earn and which cost you.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Coach artificial intelligence?
No. It applies fixed rules to your own numbers and shows the evidence. It does not look at the market and is not investment advice.
Does it work for scalping?
Yes. Trades are paired from your fills with their exact times when your broker file includes them, so scalps are measured by entry time and hold time.
