A free trading journal that starts from your broker CSV
Most traders know they should keep a journal and quit because typing every trade is tedious. OptiqJournal reads the file your broker already gives you, so your trades, P&L and statistics are ready in minutes, free for 6 months with no credit card.
What you get free for 6 months
- Import from thinkorswim, Interactive Brokers, Robinhood, Webull and Fidelity, or map the columns of any other CSV
- Stocks, options and futures, with scale-ins, partial exits and short trades paired for you
- Dashboard with net P&L, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, drawdown and an edge score
- P&L calendar, equity curve and a weekday-by-hour performance heatmap
- A per-trade journal with ready-made setups, tags and mistakes, notes, ratings and screenshots
- A daily Coach review that compares your day with your own history and drafts a plan for tomorrow
- Export or delete all of your data at any time
What to check before you choose any free trading journal
Free journals differ in ways that only show up after you have started. Before you commit, check these five things, for us and for anyone else:
- Is there a cap on trades or imports per month?
- Can you import your broker's file, or is every trade typed by hand?
- Does it handle options and futures correctly, with contract multipliers?
- Can you export your data if you leave?
- What happens when the free period or free tier ends?
How the free period works
Your 6 months start when you confirm your email, and the dashboard shows how many days are left. We do not ask for a card and nothing renews automatically.
When the 6 months end you can still log in, view your whole history and export it. Importing new trades and the premium analytics pause until you choose a paid plan, if we offer one. Paid plans will be announced before your free period ends. This is a launch offer, not a free-forever plan, and we say so up front.
Why a journal beats a spreadsheet
A spreadsheet works until you have a few hundred trades. Then pairing partial fills, valuing option contracts, calculating drawdown and slicing results by setup or entry hour becomes a project of its own. OptiqJournal does those calculations from your raw fills, so you spend your time on the review, not the formulas.
Frequently asked questions
Is OptiqJournal really free?
Yes, for 6 months from the day you confirm your email, with no credit card. After that, your history stays viewable and exportable, and paid plans will be announced before the free period ends.
Do I need to enter trades by hand?
No. Export a CSV from your broker and import it. Re-importing an overlapping file skips trades that are already stored.
Which markets are supported?
Stocks, options and futures. Forex and crypto are not supported yet.
