How to export Fidelity trades to CSV

November 4, 2026

Fidelity gives you two different ways to download your trades, and they are not equal. One includes the exact time of every fill. The other only has dates. Here is how to get each and which to use for journaling.

Option 1: Active Trader Pro orders (recommended)

The Orders export from Active Trader Pro lists each order with its status, fill price and the exact time it was placed or filled, for example 11:40:45 AM ET Nov-04-2026.

  1. Open Active Trader Pro and go to the Orders window.
  2. Set the account and the period you want to see.
  3. Use the export option to save the list as a CSV file.

Because every order has a time, charts that depend on time of day, such as your entry-hour heatmap, are accurate. Only filled orders are imported; cancelled and open orders are skipped. This file has no commission column, so fees are taken from your fee settings in the journal.

Option 2: Fidelity.com activity history

  1. Sign in to Fidelity.com and open Accounts & Trade, then Activity & Orders.
  2. Open the History tab and choose the account and date range.
  3. Use the download icon to save a CSV.

This file includes commissions and fees for each trade, which is useful. But it only has the date, not the time. The journal pairs fills in file order, which Fidelity lists newest first, so profit and loss comes out right, but hour-of-day statistics are not meaningful for these trades. Option expirations and assignments appear as separate rows and are not paired, so those positions can show as open.

Which one should you use?

Use the Active Trader Pro orders file when you can: it has the times. Use the Fidelity.com history for older periods you cannot get from Active Trader Pro, or when you want the exact commissions.

Do not import both for the same days. The same trades would appear twice, once with real times and once with a midday placeholder time, and be counted double.

Import it

  1. Create a free account and open the Import page.
  2. Choose Fidelity from the broker list, or leave it on auto-detect. Both file types are recognised.
  3. Drop the CSV in and check the number of executions found.
  4. Click Import. Re-importing an overlapping file skips executions that are already stored.

Compare the totals with your Fidelity statement. The statement is the official record; the journal is for understanding your trading. For what to look at next, see how to journal options trades.
